Banned Books Week

The books that the world calls immoral are books that show the world its own shame.
Book recommendations for both adults and children; written by a librarian who is always looking for her next book fix.
You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.
In honor of the American Library Association's annual Banned Books Week.
The books that the world calls immoral are books that show the world its own shame.
This blog is made up of book recommendations and reviews for kids and adults, written by a librarian/person who is always looking for her next book fix. I also write about book gifts, crafts, decor, and more.
Well, I relish reading books, of course, but I also enjoy talking and writing about them. The best part about being a librarian is the journey you get to take with fellow readers.
Sometimes relationships form as part of that journey, and I get to travel down a road of discovery as I learn more and more about what a reader likes and s/he is kind enough to provide me with feedback. It's somewhat like searching for an archaeological treasure à la Indiana Jones (my first career choice as a little girl), but a bit less dangerous.
My first love is children's literature, which I chose as my study path in library school. Fast forward a decade later, and I'm also a mama of three, which has added a deeper, more personal level to my interest in children's books.
And just in case I sound like I only speak "kid lit," don't be fooled; I've been known to consume adult books to occasionally escape my beloved offspring. Like daily.
Reading, to me, is life.
